Churaumi Aquarium

This was a fun day also. We all went to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. Daddy got to play with all the cool settings on the camera.

また楽しかった１日。この日は、家族全員でちゅら海水族館に行ったよ。お父さんは、デジカメの設定をあれこれ変えて写真を撮るのを楽しんでいたよ。

Eating some ice cream to stay cool. It was very hot this day.

この日は、とても暑かった為、アイスクリームを食べて体を涼しく。

This is the look I give when I want something, and I wanted the ice cream. And of course I got some how can you resist, look at me.

何か欲しい時にする顔。この時は、皆が食べているアイスクリームが欲しかったんだ。もちろん、私のかわいさには誰も勝てず、ちゃっかりアイスクリームを貰っちゃったケドね。

I was trying to get a Nemo fish.

ニーモーを捕まえたいんだけどォ。

These sharks were so big they would cast a shadow over the observing area when they swam by.

ここのサメはとても大きかったんだけど、水槽が非常に大きかった為、水の中でも影が見えるぐらいだったんだ。

Family Time

The day before we go to the aquarium we traveled about half way to a small hotel on the beach. Everybody had there own room and view of the ocean, it was nice.

ちゅら海水族館にいく前日に、北部にある小さなホテルに泊まりに行ったんだ。皆一部屋ずつ貰い、こじんまりとはしていたがビーチも目の前にあって、楽しい時間を過ごしたよ。

They had no idea what they were doing, as you can see by the amount of the boat under water, but they made it look easy.

写真を見て分かるように、（軽い人が後ろに乗るべきなのに）重い人が後ろに乗っている為、ボートが半分沈み気味。でも、何とか漕げてはいるけどね。

Manzamo

Here we all are enjoying the wonderful scenery that Okinawa has to offer.

沖縄の素晴らしい景色を皆で楽しんでいるよ。

Here is the elephant cliff.

この崖（万座毛）は、像の鼻の形をしている事で有名。

Look at the water. You can see some of the light green coral about 6-10 ft deep.

珊瑚が透き通って見えるぐらい、海がきれい。

When you get enough airline miles you can stay here free or pay a nice price.

いつかマイレージが貯まったら、そこのホテルに泊まりたいね。

PT Time

It's PT (physical training) time. Daddy wanted to excersise while he was here cause all the eating we were doing.

PTの時間です。毎日、おいしいのを食べていた為、沖縄にいる間もエクササイズを欠かさなかったお父さん。

Uncle Byron and daddy playing racquetball. Daddy had won a game and so did uncle Byron.

ラケットボールをしているバイロンおじさんとお父さん。１回戦はお父さんが勝って、２回戦はバイロンおじさんが勝ったんだって。

Uncle Byron won with a winner take all sudden death match.

３回戦で勝利を決めたバイロンおじさん。

At Museum

Mommy, daddy, and aunt Aki went to the Okinawan history museum today.

今日、お父さんとお母さん、そしてあきおばさんと一緒に博物館に行ったよ。

This what a traditional house looked like. They don't look like this any more.

今はめったに見られなくなったが、昔の伝統的のお家。赤瓦って言うんだって。

Okinawa Peace Memorial Park

Pictured here is the memorial for all the US armed forces members that lost their lives in the battle of Okinawa. There are more than 5,000 names on these walls most of which died in the first few hours of the battle.

沖縄戦で亡くなった米人戦士の名前が彫られている記念塔。最初の数時間で、５０００人以上の戦士を亡くしたと言われている。

On the right is the US forces names and on the left is the Japanese forces names.

右側が米人戦士、左側が日本人戦死の名前が彫られている。
